It’s not every day that you get a canvas printed, so Naked Canvas realises there’s stuff to know before getting started.

This section explains all about the types of canvas, inks, laminate and stretcher frames that we use.

With the finest materials in Australia and decades of experience, we’ll be bringing the most amazingly vibrant images to your Naked Canvas.

Naked Canvas uses superior heavy archival-quality canvases – and when it comes to canvas, generally the heavier the better.

Heavy canvas is stronger and will absorb more laminate that will protect your canvas print for life.

Canvas is weighed in grams per square metre (gsm) and Naked Canvas offers a 430gsm poly/cotton blend that is guaranteed to last you a lifetime.

We here at Naked Canvas use superior pigment inks that are
printed straight onto the canvas through a state of the art ink-jet process.

Pigment inks are the best kind for canvas printing because of their broad colour range and odourless quality.

Naked Canvas uses kiln-dried dense pine, which is protected from warping and won’t crack. Our frames are bevelled (curved) down underneath the canvas, which means that the stretched canvas isn suspended above the inner edge of the frame so that the only point of contact between the canvas and frame is on the far outer edge. The bevelled frame means that no indentation from the frame behind will form over time.
